Summer Youth Jobs
Civic Works hosts two summer job programs for youth age 14 and older:
- Mission Thrive Summer at Real Food Farm – for students who have completed 9th grade, 10th grade, and 11th grade who are interested in cooking, farming, fitness, and nutrition.
- Baltimore Conservation Leadership Corps – for students ages 15-18 who are committed to working hard and learning more about urban farming, natural resource conservation, urban forests and environmental sustainability.
To be eligible for summer jobs, you must first register with Baltimore City’s YouthWorks program by March 10, 2017. Visit youthworks.oedworks.com/ and follow the instructions to register. Don’t forget to check your e-mail and follow the link to complete your registration and attend your certification appointment with all your payroll paperwork. If you need help getting copies of your payroll paperwork together, check out our guide for how to get duplicates and new ID cards.
Then, complete a separate application expressing your interest in Real Food Farm’s summer activities – follow the links above to each program’s page. We’ll invite you to an on-farm interview and then let YouthWorks know who we’d like to have placed with us for the summer.
